Individual Counselling

The primary goal of individual counselling is to increase understanding of one's thought and behaviour patterns to help enhance well-being. It also inspires change and improve the quality of life through self-awareness and self-exploration.

It is a personal opportunity to receive support and experience growth during challenging times in life. Individual counselling can help one deal with many personal topics in life such as anger, depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, grief, marriage and relationship challenges, parenting problems, school difficulties, career changes, etc. Clients work one-on-one in a safe, caring, and confidential environment.

Being in therapy can also:

  • help improve communication skills

  • empower you to develop fresh insights about your life

  • develop coping strategies

  • ease life transitions

  • help to make healthy decisions

  • develop goal oriented behaviour

  • become more self-aware

Being in love with your partner and not being able to identify where the relationship is sailing amidst an ocean of misunderstandings, conflicts, ego-clashes, fear of abandonment etc. can be a disheartening feeling to witness, but despite how difficult it might look, you can always seek professional help to give your relationship your very best.

Some of the benefits are:

  • identify relationship issues

  • improve communication skills

  • resolve conflicts

  • terminate dysfunctional behaviour

  • restoring lost trust

  • increasing shared support

  • restoring intimacy

  • learning how to support each other through difficult times

  • forming a stronger bond

Child and Adolescent Counselling

There's no age restriction on mental health struggles. What's troubling for one might not be troubling for another. Childhood and adolescence is a golden period of one's life, but it's not the happiest memory for some to recall. Child and adolescent counselling is an opportunity to learn to regulate their emotions and understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviour in order to have more control over them.

It helps to:

  • increase self-esteem and confidence

  • decrease anxiety and depression

  • develop a healthy sense of self

  • increase social competencies

  • inculcate skills necessary to manage stress and conflict

Some of the most common reasons that people consider counselling are:

  • being bullied or picked on at school

  • parents are divorcing

  • struggling with mental health problems like depression, anxiety, or uncontrolled anger

  • traumatic event of some kind

  • acting strange and troubled for no apparent reason

Seeking Counselling/therapy can be an overwhelming step to begin with. But it is essential to step up and take charge of our lives. If you are struggling from mental health issues or know somebody who might be experiencing a similar situation, do not hesitate to reach out for help.

Remember, today might seem to be the hardest day of your life, but tomorrow is what you carve out of the unknown.
